DWC in Arkansas

For the 14th year in a row, our golf group travels to Bella Vista, Arkansas, for multiple days of golf and friendship.  Here we are in 2001:

And here we are in 2009:

At least one of us still looks good.

Twilight Dinner Club at Greenwood

The Twilight Dinner Club met at Greenwood for an informal outside meal complete with wine and tall tales.  John and Dan shared the prize for having the most disgusting teenage job.

Dessert was beautiful and very tasty.

Mason, Blottas and Clea ... oh my

We have a busy ... and fun ... Memorial Day Weekend.  It starts with a visit from Mason as he travels from San Francisco to Topeka to New York and back again.  On this leg of his trip, we get him for one night.

On Sunday, Lucas' family arrives from Brazil ...

and Clea and Sebastian arrive from Minnesota.

We gather some local family for a group shot:

Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

Vittoria's goodbye party

The school year is over and Vittoria's parents come from Italy to take her home.   We will miss her.

HRC to and from Hawaii

HRC travels to Hawaii to spend her birthday and Mother's Day with her beautiful daughter. Here are a  few shots that I stole from We Be Bloggers.

Ruth and Ruth

Ruth and Ruth.  Mother and Mom. Granny and Oma.  Whatever you call them, the world is a better place thanks to these 2 great mothers.

Four Old Crows

SACII comes to town for the weekend.  The Crow family celebrates by going to Por'e Richards (n/k/a the Kansan Grill) for steak and ice cream.

The next day, the same 4 Old Crows gather for Mother's Day lunch.

Happy Birthday - Front Page News

Today is HRC's birthday.  As an early present, yesterday the Topeka Capital-Journal put her picture on the front page of the paper:

For those of us who use reading glasses, here it is a little closer:

Dad turns 83

Dad was born on May 5, 1926. Today he is 83 years old. As is the tradition, his office staff throws a lunch party. Tons of people come. After all, red cake is on the menu.

Birthday dinner included Nancy and Lucas at the North Star Supper Club where I got this really nice picture of the Gs.Happy Birthday Dad.

In the spirit of May Day, this morning I found this May Basket hanging from our front door knob.
