Potwin Place 4th of July - 2008

Yep, the 4th of July is always lots of fun in Potwin Place. We invite people from all over to join the fun. Heather flies in from New York.

and Dany comes all the way from Argentina.

Here is a sampling of our 3 day celebration of street dancing, parades, swimming parties, corn bag toss, pie judging, picnics, music, tree climbing, fireworks, outdoor movies, Bocce Ball, smiling, laughing and rope swinging.

Happy 4th of July

SRC moves from Palo Alto - July 1, 2008

After 9 years of living in California and 4 years with Google, SRC decided to leave both. Dan flew to California to help her pack her apartment and drive home.

She gives away stuff:

and either brings home, or stores the rest

until her apartment is empty.

She says her goodbyes to some dear friends before we hit the road.

We travel to Yosemite National Park where we have a scenic and tasty meal

and then awaken to spectacular natural wonders:

Then onward to Kansas. We mostly travel 2 lane highways and enjoy seeing very interesting scenery along the way.

We see July snow in Nevada and amazing vistas in Utah.

We stop in Denver for a late night drink with Tony.
After three and a half days (and 1858 miles) we arrive home in time to join Helen and friends as we begin the Potwin 4th of July celebration with the 3rd of July Street Dance:

3 Fathers at the North Star ...

SACII and Cheryl come to town and we celebrate with a Father's Day Eve feast at The North Star.

Granny turns 83

Granny turns 83 and is as pretty as ever.

Crow tree house - May 18, 2008

Check out the Crow house from the Crow tree house 20' above the ground. This hammock type tree house (Crows' Nest) was lovingly built by SRC and DWC in the summer of 1994. No boards or nails were used, just ropes and knots. Lots of them. It has endured the wind and the weather and is still being enjoyed by neighborhood kids today.

Mother's Day - 2008

We have a nice Mother's Day lunch at the Top of the Tower with the Gs, Nancy and George. Oma visits us later for a nice afternoon snack. We are lucky to have such great mothers in our family. Smiles ... and thanks ... to mothers all over the world.

HRC turns 56 ...

We celebrate HRC's 56th birthday by eating cherry pie from Linda Polly. Yummy!!!

Granddad turns 82

We celebrate Granddad's 82nd Birthday with cheer and smiles.
