Dinner with old friends

HRC and DWC have dinner with John and Diane. DWC has known John since high school while HRC has known him since junior high. It was fun to see them.

Dad turns 81

We celebrate Dad's 81st Birthday by going to the North Star. Nancy joined us as did Tony's parents, Chuck and Joan Gonzalez, who were visiting from Riverside, California. Here is our only decent picture from the North Star:

May Day visit

We received a nice May Day surprise when MJC stopped by for a short visit. We spoiled her by taking her to lunch at Terry's.

Dan goes to The Masters - again

In early April, and for the 2nd year in a row, Dan travels with friends to Georgia where he goes to The Masters. He also plays golf at courses like Reunion Golf Club, Currahee Golf Club and Harbor Club on Lake Oconee. Here are some pictures:

SRC and Shannon visit

President's Day brought SRC home for a weekend visit. She brought Shannon for his first trip to Kansas. Being from upstate New York, he willingly helped with the snow ...

he displayed patience and good character as we visited family...

and he showed good humor and polished manners as we attended a book signing luncheon for Matthew Polly's book, American Shaolin.

AFS Weekend

We host foreign exchange students for the weekend. Left to right below you'll see Japan, Finland, USA and Brazil. The US student (a fellow Kansan) is preparing for her semester abroad.

HRC and DWC celebrate their 30th Anniversary

Thirty years is a long time. HRC and DWC celebrated 30 years of marriage by flying to Florida, renting a sporty red Mustang convertible, renting a 1 BR cottage on Anna Maria Island and watching surf and sunsets for 6 days. It was great!

AFS Holiday Party - December 10, 2006

On SACII's birthday, we host the Annual AFS Holiday Party. Students from all over the world bring a tasty dessert and tell of a Holiday they celebrate at home. Here is a picture of the students and their host families or parents:
